Leap in the Opposite Direction

“There are some things that one can only achieve by a deliberate leap in the opposite direction.” This is one of the truest, most heartfelt statements I have ever heard. In order to deliberately leap we must take a conscious and purposeful action. How can we do this if jumping is not our desire? Maybe we became accustomed to the course we were embarking on. A sense of comfort had settled in. Our stubborn feet had dug their heels in. Arms were tightly crossed, facial expression of ‘who gonna check me boo?’ appeared and ears closed to any reasonable advice…even if it was coming from God.

You see, we tend to block our own blessings by an unwillingness to listen and make necessary changes. We get so caught up in the ‘here and now’ and forget about the future. Our desire for immediate gratification will have ramifications if we are not mindful. Trust me, I have been there and done that!

The game changer for me came during a church service that caused me to reflect on the eternal consequences my actions. When we are having fun and walking to the beat of our own drums, we forget about those little reminders we received along the way. The blinking red lights, detour signs and the fork in the road with the big arrow saying ‘leap in this direction.’

We must leap when God is telling us to, no matter how painful it may seem.

Our protection and preservation are on the line. His ways are not our ways, nor His thoughts our thoughts…which is a great thing.

LEAP to your destiny today…tomorrow may be too late.
