Don't Wait For Their Applause
You’ve done the work.
Completed your tasks.
Took your bow and you heard silence.
Their quietness struck you, not because they did not see you, but because you know they saw and still chose not to acknowledge.
Then you find yourself questioning whether things were presented properly. Did you cross all the T’s and dot your I’s?
Was there a critical detail you missed? A snag in your delivery?
All these questions flowing through your head now take the attention off of your accomplishments.
Rather than relishing in your success, self-doubt settled in and the greatness and excitement that initially existed vanishes.
Immediately, you notice that once you are wearing the face of defeat, the applause begins.
How ironic? When you are doing well…silence. When you are not…applause.
This is why it is so important that we do not wait for the applause of others, because their reasons for joy may be deceptive.
I have to remind myself daily – and now I am reminding you- to take a bow, thank them for coming and assure them that continued greatness is on the horizon.
God is clapping for you and that’s all the praise you need!
